ABSVD+ tips

Short paths for one task at a time.

Tips describe the inspected app code. Check availability and controls in the distributed version.

  1. Go straight to a reference

With the cover or reader focused, Ctrl+G opens Go to. Enter a reference such as John 3:16 and confirm in the field.

  2. Find a book by name

In the Index, type the start of a name with Book focused; then choose chapter and verse.

  3. Find a passage without its reference

Open Search in the Index and search for a phrase you remember. The scope helps narrow the results.

  4. Choose Exact or Flexible

Exact preserves phrase order; Flexible combines terms with AND or OR within the same set of verses.

  5. Keep your reading position

Set a ribbon or choose the paper bookmark's verse to return later.

  6. Write a long note

A note can contain multiple paragraphs while staying linked to the same passage; the notebook organizes it by reference.

  7. Highlight and erase a passage

Select text before choosing a pencil or Eraser. Eraser removes highlighting, not the note.

  8. Return after a jump

With the reader focused, Alt+Left returns to the previous position; Alt+Right moves forward again.

  9. Increase the reading text size

In the reader or Index, Ctrl+= increases text size; Ctrl+0 restores the default.

  10. Switch translations without losing the passage

Check the book, chapter and verse after choosing JFACF or KJV; the physical page may change.

  11. Find a hymn by its stanza

In Hymns, enter a lyric word and remove the category filter if no result appears.

  12. Preserve studies before updating

Create a full backup, check the preview and keep the entire folder before changing your installation.
